New Work From Fine Art Photographer Howie Garber

Howie is always inspired by new landscape and wildlife photography opportunities like his 2024 trip to South Africa, a place with rich biodiversity of wildlife and flora. Howie and his partner Patti visited Kruger National Park, Sabi Sands, and the Drakensburg Mountains. It was amazing to see leopards in trees and elephants at sunset in their natural environment. Photography excursions in the last 5 years have included Hawaii Volcanos National Park, Moraine Lake in Banff National Park, and the Tongass National Forest of Southeast Alaska. The Tongass is a temperate rainforest and home to glaciers, Black and Brown Bears, and Bald Eagles. Anan Bear Observatory near Wrangell provided great opportunities to see Black Bears fishing, mothers with cubs and eagles in flight. Occasionally there are rare photo opportunities close to home like the mountain shadows (crepuscular rays) cast by the Grand Tetons at sunrise.
